Homeschool Holiday Farms Field Trip
Enjoy all the animals in our Barnyard Zoo, check out the General Store, and enjoy the Great Pumpkin Patch. Spend time with friends at all the activities including the large jump pad, duck races, Haytona Speedway, corn grinding, steer roping, cow milking, and MORE! Last but not least, get your pumpkin from the patch to take home.
Homeschool Dolphin Cruise
Homeschoolers love our annual dolphin cruise. The Lowcountry’s Salt Marsh is home to many interesting creatures. Our guide will share their knowledge about what we find in the saltwater channels of Broad Creek. This trip is designed for students and includes a naturalist onboard to educate and answer questions.

Field Trip: Georgia Aquarium
A field trip admission ticket allows students to explore the many diverse habitats and species at the impressive Georgia Aquarium. In this self-guided experience, all tickets include Aquarium admission, all available presentations, and all available animal galleries.

Using scientific sampling techniques and the lens of a microscope, students will investigate the one-celled plants and animals that live in our coastal waters.

Field Trip: Two Small Pieces of Glass Planetarium Showing
Join us at the GSU Planetarium for four programs: Moon Phases, Planets/Sun (Sizes), Current Night Sky, and Two Small Pieces of Glass. In this last program, discover the wonders that even a small amateur telescope can reveal and learn about the scientists that made such views possible.
Field Trip: Down by the Docks
•Students ages 4-8 enjoy fish printing, time off the dock, and a plankton activity.
•Students ages 9+ will enjoy a squid dissection and use microscope techniques to learn about the complex ecosystem under our docks.

Imagine if you were to wake up in the morning and suddenly no water faucets work! Learn about the value of water and how it makes it to your home in a safe way. Students, age 8+ can join us.

Field Trip: Widgeon Point Preserve
We are delighted to enjoy a nature excursion led by Angel Oak Academy. Discover a wide variety of fascinating critters. Learn about the salt marsh and maritime forest. View the river from different vantage points. Ask questions about all you see and learn together!
Field Trip: Can You Dig It?
Get an introduction to the wonderful world of archaeology from a professional archaeologist. Students will be able to learn about the past as they excavate and identify artifacts from a simulated site dig box.
Field Trip: Sea Me Build
All age groups will enjoy exploring the Maritime Museum and learning about Animal Classification using models, furs, bones, and live animals. Ages 4-8 will learn about the wandering lives of jellyfish through an interactive sea jelly build; they will take home a crafted pet of their own. Ages 9+ will construct a model research buoy using limited resources. This team-building competition puts your knowledge of technology, engineering, math, and resourcefulness to the test.
Winter Dance: The Carousel Ball
Come one, come all. You won’t want to miss the Carousel Ball! Enjoy magic, games, and snacks galore. And if you aren’t there you’ll miss surprises and more. So bring a friend. In fact bring two! Because you won’t want to miss lovely to do!
Bee City Interactive Zoo
Join us as we enjoy Bee City, a bee farm and interactive zoo. Learn the importance of the honey bee in an educational program teaching students how to become part of sustaining pollinators. Hand-feed monkeys, ringtail lemurs, alpacas, deer, goats, sheep, and pet bunnies. See the Wallabies, Antelope, Tigers, Snow Leopard, Serval Cats, and Cavies as well as many farm animals: Miniature horses and donkeys, turkeys, chickens, pheasants, and much more! See snakes from South Carolina as well as lizards, turtles, frogs & alligators.
Massie Historic Classroom
Step back in time to an authentic nineteenth-century classroom. Engage in authentic grade-level appropriate reading, writing, arithmetic, and geography lessons and practice penmanship with quill pens.
Animalia Puppet Production
Hobey Ford’s beautiful production “Animalia” explores the world of animals through movement, music, and visually stunning puppetry. The pieces include a magnified look at butterfly and frog metamorphosis, the world of birds, Ford’s classic undersea ballet of whales, frolicking dolphins, and otters. Experience the artistry and technical wizardry of Hobey Ford through the magic of these animated carved foam creatures in “Animalia.”
Indigo Tie Dye
Investigate the historical importance of indigo with a costumed presenter and learn how and why this plant became a valuable cash crop in South Carolina during the 1700s. Students will tie-dye a t-shirt with indigo dye as they explore the historic process of making indigo dye from the indigo plant. Students provide one white t-shirt. (2nd grade and up).
Co-op Enrollment
LTL offers group instruction and private tutoring for homeschoolers on twelve Fridays each fall and spring (September - December, and January - April). Middle and high school teachers offer assistance with class credits.
Homeschool classes, workshops, nursery, playtime opportunities, bible instruction, and special events are offered for local homeschooled children, ages 0-19.
