Use the following link to access a Google Form that tells us you are interested in receiving all information that we will be sending out: date, time, and location of the November Interest Meetings; the application for the competition; all communications related to preparation.

Who we are:

We are a local arm of the Miss America Organization, a small board of parents and teachers working as mentors and volunteers to bring opportunities for growth to young ladies in the Bluffton / Beaufort / Hilton Head Island area.

What we do:

We host a pageant competition with the goal of working with young ladies for a period of 6-12 months, training them in the skills of public speaking, professionalism, poise and appearance; essay writing, resume writing, and confidence, among other skills.

At last year's competition, 4 young ladies were crowned - 3 of them from Bluffton, and one from Myrtle Beach. We were extremely proud to be able to work with girls from Beaufort County, and hope to do so again.

What we provide:

We provide community opportunities for service and volunteerism. We provide an opportunity for pursuing a cause (philanthropy) that will impact others. We also provide an opportunity to meet like-minded young ladies from around the state of South Carolina, within a context where friendships are fostered among a diverse group of people.

Why we do it:

We have seen countless young ladies in our state and around the nation grow into articulate, confident, well-kept, intentional, motivated, kind-hearted, compassionate, resourceful, intelligent young women because of the experiences and opportunities offered by the Miss America program.

We have also repeatedly seen the financial, educational, and professional trajectory of the candidates in the Miss America program altered by the scholarship opportunities afforded to them at the local, state, and national level.

We have seen year after year that young women become a better version of themselves through this program.

What has changed:

In 2017, the Miss America Organization dispensed with the swimsuit category of competition, in deference to a renewed focus on talents, aptitudes, service to others, and scholarly success. This new direction allows a broader pool of candidates to benefit from the competition and the rewards.

What is next:

In November, we will be holding several Interest Meetings in our area so that girls ages 13-17, and young ladies ages 18-25, can hear more about our organization, how it can benefit them, and how they can prepare to participate, if they choose.

Our next pageant competition will be held on January 7, 2023, at May River High School.

Cash scholarships, prizes, and in-kind awards will be awarded to 4 winners capturing the titles of Miss Hilton Head Island, Miss Hilton Head Island Teen, Miss Bluffton, and Miss Bluffton Teen. Each of our Miss winners will receive a scholarship of at least $500.
