Join us for our third annual homeschool dolphin watch with Captain Mark on beautiful Hilton Head Island with Lowcountry Field Trips.
The boat ride is about 1 hr and 45 minutes long. Arrive 15 minutes before your cruise. Captain Mark will narrate on the way out. He tells you about all the nice homes and harbors along the way, the history of the island, and about any wildlife you see (birds, dolphins, etc).
You will begin at Shelter Cove, which is almost at the end of Broad Creek, and you’ll go out into Calibogue Sound, where he will tell you about the bridge to the island, Daufuskie Island, Buck Island, and also Harbortown. On the way back, he doesn’t narrate, so that you may have a nice ride back, just enjoying the sights.
Captain Mark has lived on the island for over 35 years, so he’s a wealth of information (and some silly jokes of course), It’s a wonderful way to spend a couple of hours.
The boat has a snack bar that takes cash or Venmo. The kids love it so come prepared!
Masks are not required as this is an outdoor activity but Captain Mark has many customers who wear them. It is a personal/family choice. Masks are appreciated in the snack bar.
Due to social distancing regulations this year there are two cruise times.
LOCATION: Park at Shelter Cove Harbour and walk down to the docks. Find the Holiday at Dock C.
