Event description

Every other year since 2011 the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry has put together a unique Public Art Exhibition displayed at the Coastal Discovery Museum. The exhibit was postponed in 2017 due to hurricane Matthew debris clean up. This year 19 attention grabbing sculptures will be displayed at the Museum and 1 at the HHI Airport.

The Coastal Discovery Museum offers guided tour for school students. This tour gives students the opportunity to view and analyze unique, large-scale outdoor artwork, learn about different techniques and the artists’ intentions, use creative thinking to find their own meaning in a piece of artwork, and discuss design, technique, materials, and much more. Guides will also share background about artists and their vision too.

4th-12th Grades at Coastal Discovery Museum.

This trip has been funded for our group by the Island School Council for the Arts.
